In September, in Berlin, in the Schöneberg district, the first museum dedicated to Street Art was inaugurated, the urban art par excellence, which from the streets, walls and alleyways of the city will go to the halls of the Urban Nation for Urban Contemporary Art.  The museum is housed in a two-storey building with a graffiti covered beige facade, renovated to accommodate the monumental works of street artists. Designed in collaboration with architecture bureau GRAFT, the museum’s surfaces and structures will become canvases for local and international artists to display their work, while more conventional collections of paintings and design work will also be displayed inside the institution. The space is set to be used for research and exchange programmes centred around urban art, and the centre will also run workshops, live performances and open-air art performances.
