Alba and its surrounding hillsides are welcoming the 87th edition of the International Alba White Truffle Fair, which is scheduled till November 26th 2017
The heart of the Fair, every Saturday and Sunday till November 26th will be the Worldwide Market of the Alba White Truffle, set up inside the Cortile della Maddalena courtyard, where you can see, touch, smell, and experiment with the Tuber magnatum Pico, the mecca of the Alba White Truffle. Also within the Cortile della Maddalena, during the open days of the Alba Truffle Show you will find the Show Cooking areas, with the best chefs from Langhe, Roero and Monferrato, the Truffle Sensorial Analyses and the Wine Tasting Experience® together with guests, meetings and debates. Dedicated to real gourmets, the Foodies Moments are the highlight of the Alba Truffle Show, a must-see for those who want to discover how the Alba White Truffle meets signature cuisine. Run by local chefs and starred chefs from Langhe, Roero and Monferrato – which can boast 21 starred restaurants – and by some of the most prestigious Italian restaurants, the Foodies Moments are cooking shows of the highest level, a showcase on the creative gesture that animates the country’s best cuisines in the creation of dishes where the Alba White Truffle is the protagonist. The most exclusive enogastronomic event of the edition will be the “Ultimate Truffle Dinner”. The idea is to combine and match the Alba White Truffle in an exclusive event presenting unique elements of international cuisine such as oysters, Kobe beef, caviar, foie gras, Champagne and Barolo. The dinner will be held on November 20th at Flavio Costa’s Ristorante 21.9. The proceeds from these prestigious events, open to the public, will be allocated to the “Breathe the Truffle” project, the first crowd-funding campaign aimed at safeguarding the natural environment of the Alba White Truffle.
