The historic Hotel de la Ville in Monza has a double reason to celebrate: the 60-year-old management of the Nardi family coincides with the inauguration of La Veranda at the Derby Grill.
It is the hotel symbol of hospitality in Monza – the only luxury hotel in the city affiliated with Small Luxury Hotels of the World and Les Collectionneurs – but it is above all a private home of great charm, warm and welcoming, where everything contributes to making guests feel an integral part of his large, elegant family. The birthday for the 60 years of the Hotel de la Ville – it was 1958 when the Commendatore Bartolomeo Nardi decided to take over the hotel – also celebrates the fourth generation of the Nardi at the helm of this prestigious residence commissioned by Maria Theresa of Austria at the end of the 18th century and later chosen by the Savoia as a summer residence. Today, the fourth generation is represented by Francesco Nardi, who looks to the future with an absolutely modern eye. And then here is the creation of a new space in view usable throughout the year, La Veranda. An outlet ideally divided into two that becomes the continuation but also the trait d’union with the new catering offer of Derby Grill,
which in addition to the Restaurant with Veranda now also signs the cocktail bar. A fresh and bright environment with refined and modern furnishings that harmonize perfectly with the atmosphere of the internal room, where dominate are the softer colors of the dove and the sage green sublimated in a splendid fresco by the talented artist Giovanni Bressana, who reproduces the “steeplechase racing”, the historic cross-country equestrian competition that was organized in the park of Monza in the 50s. Also in the new Veranda you can taste the refined cuisine of chef Fabio Silva, very skilled in finding the point of balance between the food and wine roots of the territory of Monza and Lombardy and its origins Campania, combined with a prestigious wine list with 300 labels in continuous growth. But the news is not over, because on september, the 16th, Sunday Brunch was inaugurated in the Veranda. The Derby Bar also becomes a Library & Veranda, with a colonial atmosphere and embellished with original
Vietnamese ceiling blades and frescoes on the walls depicting lush leaves and plants. The ideal place for the refined Afternoon Tea, for the tasting of a gourmet aperitif or for an after-dinner with the mixtures of the lounge bar, which enriches its paper with 8 new “signature cocktails”, 12 prestigious gins that complete the classic drinks and the wide and refined range of spirits and liqueurs from all over the world.
