Designed by flight attendants and approved by passengers, the new on-board service designed for the Main Cabin by Delta Air Lines represents a true travel experience, inside which welcome cocktail, hot towels and meals served in bistro style are just some of the elements with which the US airline wants to impress its passengers. From the beginning, Delta has been able to count on a design team consisting of more than 20 flight attendants who led the change, rigorously testing and perfecting the service to achieve the desired result. The company tested it on more than 1,200 flights – the longest service test in Delta’s history – receiving rave reviews from passengers.
Welcome– Prior to boarding the passengers will be accompanied to the gate house by the cabin chief or the main flight attendant, followed by a crew member ready to greet them at the aircraft door.
A cocktail to start– Shortly after reaching the cruising altitude, Main Cabin passengers will receive a welcome cocktail to begin their experience. For its first welcome cocktail, the company chose an Italian classic, the Bellini.
Hot towels– At the start of the flight passengers can cool off with a warm towel. The same service will be repeated immediately before landing.
Bistro style dining and new service– For meals on board, passengers can choose between appetizers and more abundant dishes, mixing and combining them just like in a restaurant. The traditional tray will be replaced by a more elegant and personalized serving set made for 30%, with bio materials that includes cutlery without plastic wrap and a new and elegant place mat to use on the coffee table.

Snacks on request, available on long-haul flights– In addition to the welcome cocktail and new gastronomic offerings, Delta offers a new snack basket available at any time after meals. The basket will include a variety of rotating sweet and savory snacks, such as Cheez-It crackers, Tillamook cheese, OREO, KIND Bars and the carrier’s beloved Biscoff cookies.
Goodbye– During the landing phase, as a thank you for choosing to fly with Delta, passengers will be served chocolates.
The new onboard experience in Main Cabin on international routes is part of the airline’s multi-billion investment in the passenger’s overall travel experience. In recent years, the carrier has made significant improvements to the service in Main Cabin, introducing free meals on coast-to-coast routes, free in-flight messaging, free on-board entertainment, new snacks, prosecco, Wi-Fi access on almost all the flights and renewed variety of Flight Fuel products available for purchase. Recent updates of the experience on board the Delta One class include new Tumi amenity kits, the proposal of seasonal menus created by renowned chefs with the possibility to pre-select their own meal before departure, a new serving service signed by Alessi and much more (www.delta.com).
