Swedish Lapland       Swedish Lapland
The majesty of uncontaminated nature, the succession of crystallized landscapes, the immense expanses of snow and the profound silences interrupted only by the heavy breathing of a husky suit. And maybe even the sighting of the Northern Lights. An extraordinary journey in sleddog adventure in the company of the great explorer Filippo Tenti, expedition leader of the TV program of travel Overland and Tour Leader of Adventure Overland, the first Italian Tour Operator that brought the concept of Trekking in the World to Italy. Tenti is ready to let us cross the snowy expanses of Swedish Lapland in a sleigh pulled by a pack of festive huskies. In this polar landscape where nature is severe, you can slip on the white blanket that winds through boreal woods and frozen lakes and rivers and savor the authentic Lapland style, with sauna and typical local dinner. But above all you can be at the helm of a team of huskies to become real “mushers“, taking care of your dogs and getting in tune with the new four-legged friends. In the evening you can instead warm up and rest in warm and rustic traditional houses immersed in untouched nature and enjoy moments of pure relaxation. The adventure begins by acquiring the basics of driving the sled, then putting on the appropriate clothing and getting acquainted with his own pack of dogs, made up of huskies from Fjellborg, Alaska. After a first day in the Lappish land, experiencing the skill of driving a
Swedish Laplandsled and spending the night in the rustic Jäkkälä hunting cabin, the expedition continues to Sevuvouma Homestead, a comfortable retreat with the atmosphere of a traditional house of Lapland. The beautiful setting at the foot of the Vittangivaara creates an experience of “last outpost”. Sliding over the snow to reach the Väkkärä Wilderness Lodge there is a good chance of encountering wild animals in their natural habitat. After having had dinner and spent some time in the large central building, with a bit of luck you can admire the Northern Lights, one of nature’s most exciting shows. The journey ends at Poikkijärvi.
