The legendary Bosio Caratsch beer is reborn after 50 years thanks to the Soralamà craft brewery, which has registered the trademark.

Bosio Caratsch“Bona cervisia laetificat cor hominum”, or “Good beer gladdens the hearts of men”. This is the motto linked to the foundation of the Bosio Caratsch brewery, the oldest in Italy, in Turin in 1845. A beer loved right away, so much so that already in 1880 it became one of the best-selling and then became the best-selling in absolute nationally since the early 1900s with distributors in the main Italian cities from north to south: Milan, Rome, Genoa, Naples and Palermo. A commercial success that goes hand in hand with the numerous awards andBosio Caratsch recognitions it has received throughout its centuries-old history, which decree its qualitative supremacy and finally consecrate it as “the best” at the 1898 and 1911 International Exhibitions of Industries despite the presence of all the most important brewers of the time. Today, after 50 years of absence from the scene, Bosio Caratsch is back thanks to Soralamà Alta Birra, a craft brewery in Valdisusa, Turin, which has strongly desired to give new life to the brand by respecting quality production processes and continuing on the path traced by the founders. And if at the beginning one of the secrets of the goodness of Bosio Caratsch beer was to be found in the water of the Turin Canal – extremely pure, light, sweet water and not very subject to sudden changes in temperature coming from the Dora Riparia -, today it is almost 25 years of history of Soralamà and the prized mountain water of Vaie are the best prerequisites for bringing Bosio Caratsch back to the top positions in the Italian brewing scene.

The new range of Bosio Caratsch is made up of four highly drinkable beers: Helles (4.7° alc) is perfect for quenching thirst and so light as to leave room for yet another glass; Marzen (5.5° alc) is an amber beer with rich malt aromas and flavors reminiscent of crusty bread. A little bitter and soft but dry and clean on the finish. Produced with the traditional decoction mashing system which accentuates the malty characteristics; Blanche (5.0° alc), produced with 50% wheat, has a very light,

slightly cloudy color with abundant and compact foam and good effervescence. On the nose, the hints of cereals stand out Bosio Caratschenriched by a balanced spiciness of coriander, juniper and lemon. Extremely fresh and drinkable also thanks to the slightly acidic aftertaste brought about by the wheat; and finally Ipa (5.5° alc), top fermented lager beer made with US hops “Simcoe” in boiling and dry-hopping. The typical resinous aromas that recall exotic fruits and citrus fruits stand out, with a bitter and dry finish, which recalls another drink.
