This is the philosophy behind the new shape of Cointreau L’Unique, the unmistakable orange-based triple sec born in the distilleries of Angers Saint-Barthélemy-d’Anjou, in the Loire Valley, from the experience of Édouard Cointreau, founder of the historic Maison Cointreau in 1849. The iconic “square” bottle of Cointreau L’Unique is embellished with an evocative touch of 170 years of excellence through a design carefully studied to stimulate sensoriality, from touch to sight, before reaching the flavor which represents a classic linked to the preparation of over 500 cocktails. The slightly elongated shape, with its four rounded corners, combines refinement and practicality. The reproductions of the stained glass windows of the Angers distillery on the sides make it easier to handle by celebrating the origins of a timeless spirit. Even the label, together with the ribbon and the medallion, is enriched with illustrations and colors that refer to the tradition of the first Cointreau distillery, paying homage to the terroir and the fruit from which the liqueur is born: the orange. The “golden fruit” is in the foreground together with the stylized shapes that recall the architecture of the historic distillery in copper tones, the color of the stills with which the liqueur has always been made. A single sentence summarizes the balance of the inimitable taste that characterizes Cointreau, “Harmonie d’esprit d’écorces d’oranges douces et amères”.
