From May 16th to the 22nd the second edition of the MonteNapoleone Yacht Club event returns to Milan. Under the patronage of Comune di Milano, it’s an event that links luxury with the nautical world, celebrating a long-standing successful partnership. Select Luxury Brands, within the context of their own Boutiques, will host the most prestigious Yacht Builders and the most famous Yacht Club on the international scene. The initiative is promoted by the MonteNapoleone Association, which to date represents 140 Luxury Brands, amongst the most important companies in the world, located in Milan’s Fashion District. The initiative is enhanced by Unique an event in which jewelers are exhibiting unique pieces and complex, multifaceted watches. Via MonteNapoleone will be transformed into a Marina: for the entire period the Shipyards will indulge in the exhibition space offered by the splendid Boutiques that, opening their doors to visitors, will allow them to admire scale models, photographs, video walls and avant-garde designs. The week provides for a rich and interconnected series of events including the presentation by the event partner Sailing Series®, the highly successful regatta format, which will display a catamaran M32, built completely of carbon fiber in Piazzetta Croce Rossa. This will be followed on Tuesday the 17th at 10:30 a.m. by a Round Table dedicated to the themes of nautical tourism and how Italian law should stimulate its development. Furthermore, throughout the entire event, the splendid cloister of Palazzo Borromeo d’Adda in Via Manzoni 41 will host the YACHTS&GENTLEMEN exhibition, which illustrates the genesis of the great yachts, their owners’ dreams and the designers’ ideas that helped make them a reality (May 16th-22nd, from 10 am-7 pm, Wednesday May 18th open until 10 pm). Each story results from a deep passion for the sea that can become the inspiration for reinvigorating those strong values and genuine qualities of the relationship between man and this natural element. From Aristotle Onassis to Gianni Agnelli by way of S.A. Karīm Aga Khan and Larry Ellison, the challenge and the attraction for the sea have given rise to unique vessels, which are presented to the public through a series of splendid images. Photographs, designs, and memories retrace the most recent decades of yachting, highlighting the entrepreneurial skills, craft and ingenuity that have given rise to an industry of Italian and international distinction.
