The Grand Duke Cosimo III de ‘Medici will issue the notice “Above the Declaration of Boundaries” of the four Regions Chianti, Pomino, Carmignano and Val d’Arno to protect and enhance the most virtuous wines of the time. We are in 1716 and thanks to Cosimo III it born the first example in the world of the concept of designation and production regulations, in anticipation of a century the French AOC. So at Artimino, on gentle hills of Montalbano, this 300th anniversary will be celebrated with a series of events that will begin on Sunday, 25th with the first of the theatrical piece “The legacy of the Medici” (reruns of the show that there will be on September, 30th and on October, 2th) in the “Villa dei Cento Camini” (Hundred Chimneys), the name by which is known the “Ferdinanda”, the former hunting residence of the Grand Duke and now Unesco World heritage. The show presented by “The Medici Dynasty Show” troupe in the Villa built by Ferdinand I in 1596 and designed by the architect Bernardo Buontalenti, will be a real dive in history accompanied by fascinating multimedia content, music, video mapping and costumes. To toast to 300 years of the territory of Carmignano, the Artimino estate will also create a precious limited edition commemorative of 1716 magnum of Carmignano Riserva 2012 with the label “300 Years Anniversary” created by Wessel Huisman, the Dutch artist linked to Artimino Contemporary and Florence Biennale. On Sunday afternoon the first 10 copies of fist touched up and signed by the artist will be auctioned for charity along with the original painting Huisman and the proceeds will go to fund “OENS – Osteopathy and Neuroscience” for the purchase of an endoscope intended for pediatric hospital Meyer in Florence.
