From the beach that hides a natural lake of fresh water to the paradise that can only be accessed through a narrow crack in the rock, up to beautiful lunar caves by the sea, here are all the secrets of the most unique bays in the Mediterranean.
Stiniva, Island of Vis, Croatia
Just 30 nautical miles from Split, to taste the best fish in the Adriatic and enjoy a relaxing holiday. Real pearl of the island, the Stiniva bay is a semicircular bay of pebbles hidden between two high cliffs with an access to the sea which is a narrow fissure in the rock of only five meters.
Chiaia di Luna, Ponza
Once also accessible by land, today the only way to immerse yourself in its waters and admire its marvelous panorama is from the sea. It is a wild paradise, surrounded by tufa walls over 60 meters high that fall overhanging the sea and on moonlit nights give spectacular light reflections that radiate white rocks.
BoatPorto Timoni, Corfu
Located under the promontory of Afionas, the two bays of Porto Timoni are ideal for those seeking solitude and the pristine sea. The beaches are covered with pebbles, while the water is crystal clear and its temperature varies between the two bays, so you can choose. Like many of Greece’s most picturesque beaches, Porto Timoni is also easy to reach by boat, much less on foot.
Tonnara di Scopello, Sicily
Here is a perfect combination of natural beauty and historical architecture. The show of the deep blue sea, its stacks and the ancient tonnara, make this place one of the most loved by directors from around the world and beyond. For diving enthusiasts, recently, a route has been made that includes a visit to the “submerged museum” of the island where you can admire various finds, including necks of amphora and tips of ancient times.

Cala Luna, Sardinia
Small isthmus of white sandy beach facing east on the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Orosei. To make this corner of paradise unique, even a small natural freshwater lake and five grottons that rise north of the beach, still today a natural shelter for the fauna and for the walkers who visit the beach every year.
Islas Cies, Galicia
15 kilometers from the city of Vigo, the three Cies Islands were once pirates’ shelters, while today they are part of the National Park of the Atlantic Islands. Here the luxuriant nature is home to a rich marine fauna and just to protect access is allowed to a limited number of guests, about 2000 per day. Among the most beautiful beaches, not only of the Mediterranean but of the World, there is like Praia das Rodas with its half-moon shape, fine sand and turquoise water.
Öludeniz, Turkey
Also known as the Blue Lagoon of the Mediterranean, Öludeniz does not betray its cover charm. As for Stiniva, even here access is tight and to protect its turquoise waters we think of the shape of Mount Baba, while a tongue of white sand accompanies visitors to the shoreline. All around the landscape is carpeted by a fresh pine forest that generates a contrast of colors with the sea that is truly unrepeatable.

Cala Macarella, Menorca
One of the most famous beaches of Menorca and, together with the twin Macarellata, considered by many to be the most beautiful of the Balearic Islands, Cala Macarella is an expanse of fine white sand, where the turquoise sea is reminiscent of a natural pool.
Bay of Roccapina, Corsica
Dominated by the Rocher du Lion, a rock shaped like a lion sculpted by the sea and the wind, Roccapina beach is immersed in a natural setting as beautiful as a few others. To fully enjoy its splendor we recommend a visit especially it is advisable especially at the beginning of the summer.
Navagio Beach, Zakynthos
Its surface consists of millions of pebbles, pebbles and white sand, but what is most striking is the amazing color of the sea, which ranges from light blue to intense electric blue, an explosion of color due to sulfur thermal springs combined with the impressive depth of the water already a few meters from the shore. Access is allowed only from the sea.
