LIÒN Seafood Wine & Cocktails in Rome won the coveted award for best European restaurant at the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards.
Designed by the Roman firm COLLIDANIELAARCHITETTO, the innovative address in Largo della Sapienza which is part of the Tridente Collection group has been able to win the favor of a jury composed of the most influential personalities of the design, hospitality and lifestyle sector at international level, obtaining the primacy in the section “Europe Restaurant” on the occasion of the 11th edition of the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards held recently in London. Indeed LIÒN is a universe of colors, materials and geometries that blend with great formal coherence to offer an all-encompassing experience between design and cuisine. The bold lines and the saturated colors in maximalist style contrast with the austerity of the Fascist-era palace that hosts it, to give the city fragments of the sweet life. Teal, turquoise and red dominate the space and the furnishings, from the velvet chairs to the enveloping sofa, creating a harmonious whole where the circle constitutes the
matrix generating dynamic elements with soft and sinuous lines that characterize the interiors. Thin and arched friezes that wrap around the space, slender metal structures frame transparent colored elements while large columns covered in mosaic pierce the long counter with a turquoise diamond glass coating in an eclectic and innovative style, with a contemporary flavor. But LIÒN also differs for the new culinary concept that unites the sea with good drinking. Making use of the guidelines of executive chef Francesco Apreda, the young chef Luca Ludovici proposes fish specialties, both for an informal lunch and for a refined dinner, designed to satisfy the most refined palates and offering a first-class gastronomic experience. And for the pre and after dinner, we rely on the talent of the bartender Antonio De Meo and his mixology that ranges from great classics to trendy cocktails alternating with signature dedicated to the arts.
