Inspired by Verdi’s La Traviata, adapted from La Dame aux Camélias, the latest fragrance of Amouage is simply exiting. To create this long awaited ninth piece by Amouage’s Library Collection, the brand’s creative director Christopher Chong has explored the nature of human love and sacrifice, telling the story of betrayal and redemption as well as it was masterfully interpreted by Maria Callas in an artistic 1958 piece in Lisbon. So, Opus IX interprets the intense Camelia, whose accord has been specifically created for this fragrance, since in nature the flower is smell free. An accord infused with black pepper and jasmine that reveals a golden hot and wild aura in the top notes. While Gaiac wood, bee wax and leather come together in a controversial heart to then give way to the final illusion of floral and woody fragrance, created from the euphoric grey amber, vetiver and civet. Delicious as ever the bottle comes in dark red dotted gold, whereas the packaging in the book format has been designed with two interpretations of the Camelia: a white flower, pure and innocent to represent the virtues of love and a red flower to reflect the destruction of betrayal. A new poetic tribute to the olfactory experiences offered by the Library Collection Amouage, celebrating a whole integrity, creativity and virtuosity. Each of the nine ethereal fragrances reveals the many faces of human nature. The fragrances of the Library Collection can’t be catalogued, exceeding the gender and inspire those who wear it to compose their own unique narration. Opus IX Eau de Parfum is available in 100 ml bottles (305,00 Euro) in a selected network of perfumeries as well as in the exclusive Italian flagship store located in Parliament Square in Rome.
