There is a new gourmet place that can satisfy at once the most demanding tastes, the lovers of local produce – absolutely Km 0 -, the creative cooking enthusiasts and those looking for an unusual address, surrounded by nature. Set in Cascina Guzzafame of Gaggiano, distinctive Lombard eighteenth-century courtyard (today’s agricultural and farm) it is only 20 minutes drive from the center of Milan. The restaurant “Ada and Augusto” has picturesque setting and fine food. In the kitchen there is the Japanese executive chef Takeshi Iwai, former student of Toru Hayashi, Herbert Hinkler (Zur Rose), Pino Cuttaia (La Madia), Antony Genovese (Pagliaccio), Antonino Cannavacciuolo (Villa Crespi), Massimiliano Alajmo (Ristorante Quadri). His desire to express himselves in the first person and the meeting with the family Monti, owner of Cascina Guzzafame, has kicked off a project with high cuisine menus that appeal to tradition but also to creativity and modernity. So, in the summer tasting menu you can found ravioli with almond ricotta, basil and tomato but also the beef tataki, avocado and salad; rice with lime, ginger and sturgeon or smoked duck with daikon, pearl barley and horseradish: a culinary synthesis that arises from the combination of the freshness of the raw materials used and the secularity of techniques and ingredients, often from Japanese culture. “Ada and Augusto” has 30 seats and is only open in the evenings from Wednesday to Saturday. But you can taste the dishes of the talented Iwai also during the events “Dinner under the stars” organized by Cascina Guzzafame under the court portico. The next round will be tomorrow June, 29th (limited seating, reservations required).
