From December the 20th there is an additional reason to spend an holiday in Megève, the famous ski resort in Haute-Savoie. Finger’s Megève has in fact reopened , cult place for all the fans of Japanese cooking and in particular of the creative interpretation by the extravagant Brazilian-Japanese chef Roberto Okabe. Among the most prestigious mountain resorts in the world, Megève has been for years the regular destination of the French and international jet-set, so much so that Jean Cocteau defined it “Paris XXI arrondissement” because of the high number of Parisians that visited and still visit the transalpine resort. In an enchanting as well as prestigious position, in less than two years Finger’s Megève has established itself as an elegant and unmissable destination for all gourmands that wish to have a snack between runs with the creative sushi that can already count on thousands of fans in Milan and Porto Cervo. The restaurant is in Christomet, at the foot of the skiing complex that includes the two main ski-lifts in Megève. Wood and stone, that traditionally characterize mountain chalets, blend harmonically with the poetical atmospheres created by the Japanese lamps and bonsai. The interior is characterized by very sophisticated furniture in Art Deco style with wide relaxing areas created by sofas, low tables and poufs; beautiful crystal ceiling lamps create suggestive light effects and reflect the whiteness of the snow enveloping the chalet. All around the peace of the pine forests invites you to pamper yourself in a regenerating zen break. The Finger’s Megève menu includes great classics of Roberto Okabe’s cuisine: carpaccio and tartare, like the mythical “Gazpacho Carpaccio” or the “ Finger’s Tartare”, but also rolls and sushi that have become real “iconic dishes” such as “Saudade do Brasil”: salmon, avocado, salmon roes and teriyaki sauce to taste the Chef’s two souls even at high altitude.Credits:Francesco Mion
