Gourmet fish sandwiches, carpacci, tartare and fried. At The Fisherman, Milan, Mr. Fish is the indisputable protagonist of taste and originality, with an eye to environmental sustainability.
There is the fresh, quality fish, the one that comes every day to the fish market in Milan, the largest fish market in Italy renowned all over the world. Then there is the michetta, the typical sandwich maker now a little disused but whose fragrance is not discussed. It is the michetta De.Co., the only one recognized by the City of Milan. And then there is so much taste, imagination, but also the simplicity needed to exalt the scents and the flavors of the sea and a cozy, fresh, clean and colorful environment, an
environment that recalls, with its shades and nautical furnishings – from lamps made with hemp peaks to marinas knots – the marvelous marine spaces and the secrets of the abysses. The FisherMan, a brand-new restaurant in the Moscova area, pays tribute to “Mr Fish” with its gourmet sandwiches by unusual and tasty combinations: from octopus to grilled chickpea and crunchy crusty peach, to tataki to mustard with pesto of rocket and seeds of sesame up to the scampi with burrata and artichoke hearts, passing through cuttlefish and squids matched with eggplant parmigiana and much more, for a total of 10 unpublished
michette in the menu. Add to the knife tartare, the carpaccio cut to the knife and the fried, all dishes accompanied by the michetta De.Co. and a julienne of crispy vegetables. Dishes to be combined with a selection of artisan beer from the Birrificio Milano but also to the delicious Abruzzo and Veneto wine (a Montepulciano and a Trebbiano by Cantina Ciavolich and a bubbly by Vinicola San Giovanni, Conegliano). A bit fastfood and a bit gourmet bistrot, The FisherMan is set to leave the mark not only for the originality of the dining proposition but also for the particular focus it
dedicates to sustainability. So much so that it only uses disposable and biodegradanle plates, glasses, cutlery and breadbox, to remind everyone that in 35 years the Oceans could contain more plastic bottles then fishes with devastating effects on the entire eco-system. A small-great example that can make a difference. (Via Varese 4 corner Largo La Foppa, www.thefisherman.it).
