The enfant prodige of New York high fashion Zac Posen has redesigned the uniforms that the staff of Delta Air Lines will wear since late May.
Red carpet at high altitude, with a new look elegant but at the same time functional for over 60 thousand employees of the “Most Admired Airline”, the title won for the seventh time in eight years by the American company Delta Air Lines. Zac Posen, a young and brilliant designer who expresses the quintessence of tailoring made in the USA, in the last three years has identified himself with the needs of flight attendants, flanking them at the gate and on board, serving meals and drinks and helping passengers in the lounges. And here is the result of the long work: a look that gives confidence in themselves but also enthusiasm and that reflects the security and attention inextricably linked to the Delta brand. The traditional colors of the red, white and blue flag have been enriched with new shades becoming “Passport Plum” (plum), “Cruising Cardinal” (red), “Ground Speed Graphite” (gray), “Traveling Thistle” (pink thistle) and “Skyline Slate” (slate). Female flight attendants and airport agents can count on plum-colored V-neck dresses, peplum sweater, wallet dress, a business suit and a wide jacket. For men, on the other hand, there is a three-piece suit in graphite, a plum crew-neck sweater and a tie with a theme. For the technical staff working on the ramps at the airport or in Delta’s TechOps division, a medium weight sweater, jacket and quick-drying pole are provided. The new uniforms will be worn by all flight attendants, but also by the customer service and maintenance and support staff. Before reaching the final production of the clothes, 165 changes were made in order to improve the fit, shape and function of the uniforms. Each Delta employee, before ordering his definitive uniform, can now book a dedicated session of about 45 minutes with qualified personnel and select the pieces he wants, choosing from all the articles, in all sizes. Worn in the spring of 2018 under test in 14 US cities and in the hubs of Paris, Amsterdam and London, the new uniforms will be launched worldwide on May, the 29th.
