Bib Gourmand for the Michelin Guide, La Cucina dei Frigoriferi Milanesi reinterprets the solid regional tradition according to modern tastes.
A traditional restaurant where you eat so well, and with an excellent quality/price ratio, to be worth a deviation of the trip and a stop. This is the concept that inspires the Michelin man, the one who licks his mustache, in assigning the recognition of Bib Gourmand. And even for 2019, La Cucina dei Frigoriferi Milanesi finds its rightful place in the Guide thanks to the culinary proposals of chef Marco Tronconi, who since 2014 has run a restaurant that has become a reference point for gourmets. Located inside the historic Frigoriferi Milanesi – once ice factory, then ice rink and finally, to the present day, a multifunctional center for culture and art – La Cucina is a joy for the palate of those who love traditional flavors and they are able also to appreciate a reinterpretation in a contemporary key. Bread and focaccia strictly homemade – after all Tronconi was born as a pastry chef and
baker – they marry with the tradition of the Milanese ossobuco served sliced boned with its marrow and crunchy rice, with the delicious salty pastry with turnip tops, egg creamy crispy bread and bacon, but also with sardines in saor with Tropea onion sauce, raisins and fennel or, ça va sans dire, with the selection of cheeses and mustards. As for the raw material, the suppliers are chosen on the territory and are largely part of Slow Food Presidia. And if at noon you can opt for a business lunch with a single dish, or for gourmand sandwiches, Club Sandwich or salads, in the evening in addition to the card there also is a tasting menu (33 euros) with small entree of the house, first course or starter, main course and sweet.
