You breathe over a century of history and, above all, of art to Ausonia Hungaria, opened in 1907 in perfect neo-Renaissance style based on a project by the engineer Nicolò Piamonte and born with the immediate desire to become an icon of the Lido of Venice. So much so that in 1913 the ceramist Luigi Fabris was entrusted with the creation of the particular covering of the main façade with majolica tiles, giving the island a unique building in an exemplary Liberty style. Today, a skilful project of protection and functional renewal of the building – implemented by the current owner of the hotel Teodoro Russo in close collaboration with the Superintendency for Architectural Heritage of Venice – allows us to admire and breathe all the artistic beauty of Ausonia Hungaria in a mix of tradition and unprecedented innovation. Thus, the 7,000 polychrome tiles adorning the main façade – restored in just 4 months – and the Liberty style of the early 1900s merge with the unmistakable interior design of the architect Simone Micheli. While the cladding of the east facade, devoid of decoration, saw the eclectic British pop artist Joe Tilson at work: under the artistic direction of Enzo Di Martino, he dedicated himself to the application
of polychrome Murano glass panels. Even the 60 rooms and suites take up the typical mix of history and innovation that characterizes the 5-star Luxury, integrating the refined design of contemporary furnishings with the precious details of the front of the building. Guests also have rooms and elevators designed for total accessibility.
