Pets are an integral part of the family nucleus and there is nothing better than being able to communicate with them in real time, not only to keep them under control but also to understand their needs. Thus, the new Kippy EVO launched on the market by the Italian start-up Kippy – an innovative SME that develops Customer IoT devices founded in 2014 by Simone Sangiorgi and Marco Brunetti – combines real-time GPS localization and physical activity monitoring; a revolution compared to the previous model, a guarantee in terms of power, precision and lightness. The new Kippy EVO model was born thanks to a close collaboration of Kippy with the University of Bologna and the Department of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Milan and it is the result of a technology designed and created for lovers of pets, for improve their well-being and the
serenity of their owners. Downloading the App on your smartphone, you can locate the position of the dog or cat in real time, check its physical activity (running, sleep, play, etc.) and receive personalized messages to learn more about its needs and status well-being, such as: “I’m awake, I’d like to have breakfast” or “I’ll fall asleep soon, good night”, or “I’m ready, shall we go out?” Kippy EVO is already available on the Kippy website (www.kippy.eu), on Amazon and in retail stores for a total of over 3,000 points of sale active in Europe. The partnership with Vodafone has been renewed, which allows anyone (Vodafone customers and not) to buy the V-Pet Tracker, the branded version of Kippy EVO. That of domestic animals is a particularly active and rapidly growing market: 140 million dogs and cats are in Europe (data from Assalco-Zoomark 2019) and Italy is in second place in number of animals with 7.3 million cats and 7 million dogs present in 38% of Italian homes. 7 million is instead the number of how many are lost each year and of these 18% is never found again. A significant number that underlines the importance of having a device that allows you to always have handy your dog / cat.
