Ancient dwellings, historic buildings and gourmet addresses just a stone’s throw from the main northern Italian water mirrors. Here are the proposals of Les Collectionneurs for a break pieds dans l’eau.
The warm autumn shades are reflected in the lakes, which are never as suggestive as in this season. We have selected some proposals signed by Les Collectionneurs – the community of restaurateurs, hoteliers and travelers chaired by Alain Ducasse – in the spirit of relaxation and good food pieds dans l’eau.
Lake Como
Walking through the streets of the historic center of Como, you will meet Palazzo Albricci Peregrini, a sixteenth-century dwelling inside a private courtyard. Here the Galli family has elegantly combined contemporary furnishings and craftsmanship with architectural authenticity, creating common areas and 6 comfortable rooms in which to feel at home. In a welcoming and convivial atmosphere, travelers will also be able to enjoy a rich breakfast with local products or an aperitif. (Room rates starting from € 230 per room per night). Continuing through the narrow streets of the center, there is the new address of The Market PlaceRestaurant, the “home” of chef Davide Maci who recently opened his doors in the city center, renewing the interior design in a style with more international tones. Chef Maci invites the gourmand traveler to indulge in a culinary experience ranging from the many proposals on the menu, admiring firsthand the creation of the dishes thanks to a large open kitchen. (Open for lunch and dinner, with different proposals available starting from € 50 per person).
Next stop: Switzerland
On the shores of Lake Lugano and immersed in a tropical park of 30,000 m2, there is Parco San Marco Lifestyle Beach Resort. The traveler immediately enters a family dimension, reserved and welcoming, a perfect place for adults and children. In fact, there are many activities and services available, from the wellness center to yoga classes, from activities to the open area to excursions on the lake to the mini club for children. And for gourmets, three restaurants where you can discover the specialties of chef Michele Pili, from the most traditional to the most refined and gourmet. (Room rates starting from € 220 per night).
Lake Garda
In Gardone Riviera dominates the Grand Hotel Fasano, an ancient hunting lodge inside a centuries-old park restructured in the name of elegance, mixing neoclassical style and modernity. The attention to detail and the passion for the art of hospitality of the Mayr family give each guest an experience of excellence dedicated to well-being and good food. At guests’ disposal there are refined rooms, a wellness area inspired by the Roman baths with Jacuzzi, Turkish bath and indoor pool and an haute cuisine “table” signed by the chef Matteo Felter. (Room rates starting from € 240 per room per night). Also in Gardone Riviera is the Lido 84 restaurant, the temple of taste of the Camanini brothers, Riccardo in the kitchen and Giancarlo in the dining room. Impeccable hosts, they invite guests to admire the lake comfortably seated in the large hall where bright colors and design furnishing accessories and works of contemporary art stand out. The view of the panorama is interrupted, however, when Giancarlo, chef Riccardo and the kitchen brigade arrive at the table to present the dishes, ranging from ancient flavors to the most sought after, for an unforgettable culinary experience. (Choice of two tasting menus or à la carte starting from € 80 per person). Moving further south, in the quiet hilly area of Montichiari, stands Palazzo Novello, a residence of the sixteenth century. The sisters Kenda and Nicoletta Novello welcome travelers in environments where paintings, antique floors, a frescoed dome and period furnishings still recall the glories of the past. The rooms with four-poster beds and exposed beams on the ceiling, all different, allow you to immerse yourself in a refined yet informal atmosphere. To spend some relaxing time immersed in the greenery, the landladies invite guests to discover the intimate private garden. (Room rates starting from € 80 a night).
Lake Iseo
Directly pied dans l’eau is the Araba Fenice Hotel, an elegant 19th century residence. The historicity of the structure finds new life in the rooms and suites with a more modern and appealing style. The pride of the structure is the private dock from which the guest can access directly on board a motorboat – including the inevitable Riva motorboat – and set off to discover the wonders of the lake. Back at the hotel, the large terrace welcomes you for an aperitif to be enjoyed in the light of the sunset and enlivened by the sweet sound of water. (Room rates starting from € 100 per night).(www.lescollectionneurs.com)
