This winter Cortina offers a lot more than just skiing. Hikes in beautiful landscapes among frozen lakes, or climbing a winter via ferrata. Make a cultural journey visiting one of the many events or exhibitions in the calendar this winter, or simply dedicate yourself to a bit of shopping in Cortina’s ever fascinating town centre.
Excursions for everyone
Enjoy a panoramic excursion along the wall of the majestic Tofana di Rozes leading to Rifugio Dibona, at 2.037m, starting from Vervei. Or take a walk in the Ampezzo Dolomites Nature Park to the charming Malga Ra Stua, starting from Sant’Uberto. If you are lucky you may even see ibex, deer, or an eagle on your way. For a walk suitable for the whole family, start from El Brite de Larieto, and in 30-40 minutes you arrive at Rifugio Mietres, at 1.710m. The walk is flat and easy with splendid views of Cortina d’Ampezzo and the Tofane peaks, and has sun exposure until late afternoon. Visit one of the most beautiful frozen lakes in the area, Lago D’Ajal at 1,412m, with a one hour walk from Campo along a path in the forest. Take break on the lake-shore in the namesake refuge. For more challenging walks or to conquer one of Cortina’s peaks, the Alpine Guides of Cortina and the Dolomiti SkiRock offer a range of guided alpine experiences, including ice climbing and winter ferratas.

After an active day, relax in one of the many spa and wellness centres in town or on the mountain.
