The Michelin Guide finally arrives in Singapore, the wine and food capital of South-east Asia with its many restaurants, market stalls, hawkers and food courts. There are about 200 addresses listed in the 20016 Guide, 29 of which are rewarded with stars and 34 highlighted in the Bib gourmant category for the highest quality at affordable prices cuisine. A triumph in this first edition is the multi-starred chef Joël Robuchon, with unique 3-star conferred to his namesake restaurant within the Resorts World Sentosa. But the real novelty, unique in the world, is the unprecedented recognition given to Eastern street food: Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle and Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice & Noodle are the hawkers rewarded with one star.
