A new concept of hospitality and design enriched the Larian shore. “Il Sereno, lago di Como” is the third masterpiece by Sereno Hotel and the Group owner, Luis Contreras. After Le Sereno St. Barths and Villa Plinian, historic residence located in Torno at about 1 km from Il Sereno, the new 5-star hotel is a concentrate of quality experiences. Starting with the architect and designer Patricia Urquiola, who designed every aspect of the build; passing through the collaboration with chef Andrea Berton, called to guide “Berton Al Lago” restaurant; and last but not least, Patrick Blanc, the acclaimed botanist who signs vertical gardens of all properties. The spacious lounge areas integrate the interior with scenic outdoor nature and the center of the boutique hotel affiliated with The Leading Hotels of the World dominates the astonishing hall designed by the designer as a focal point of the space. There are 30
suites in warm shades of gray or walnut embellished by touches of blue and green that once again point to the surrounding landscape. As for the artwork botany, Blanc has created for the first time in a single environment three distinct pieces of art: two vertical gardens – The Mirror Vert du Lac and Le Canyon – and a green sculpture (Les Racines Echasees), creating each work with thousands of different types of plants. In the center of the main garden, guests can relax in the 18-meter infinity pool on the lake, or choose the small private beach, while those fond of sailing’s Il Sereno offers three boats specially created by the Ernesto Riva shipyard whose interiors are also signed by Patricia Urquiola.
