A tribute to the green turtle, species risk symbol of luck and prosperity, on the first A380 Ana flying over Tokyo-Honolulu route.
New iconic livery for Ana-All Nippon Airways. The 5 stars Japanese airline chooses the green turtle – Honu in Hawaiian language – the sacred bird symbolizing good fortune and prosperity, to wish happiness and good luck to passengers of its first A380 into service on the Tokyo-Honolulu route from spring 2019. The livery design for the largest passenger plane in the world depicts a family of Hawaiian green sea turtles and was chosen among more than 2 thousand received following a competition organized by the carrier at the end of 2016. The project winner Chihiro Masuoka from Tokyo won two return tickets in business class from Tokyo to Honolulu. The group Ana will also support a number of activities in Hawaii to protect the green turtle, whose species is unfortunately considered endangered by IUNC (International Union for Conservation of Nature).
