Ten years after the opening of the 5-star deluxe Le Sereno in St. Barths, the Contreras family has chosen Lake Como, exactly Torno, for his Italian Boutique Hotel, affiliated with The Leading Hotels of the World and Virtuoso. For the design of Il Sereno – built with the respect to the natural and historical heritage where it is put – the group is entrusted to Patricia Urquiola, whose contemporary design, simple and elegant featuring all public rooms and 30 suites, a short walk from the private beach and all with magnificent terraces overlooking the lake: 23 Lakefront Suite, 3 Corner Suite, 2 Lake Suite with two bathrooms, dining room, terrace and hot knows outdoor bath and 2 Penthouse Suite in addition to the terrace equipped with a garden with private pool. exclusively for Il Sereno available to guests, a Club Pool, a Pool Bar with dedicated menus, heated Infinity Pool, Spa, Fitness Center, Boutique and Il Sereno Bar & Lounge. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served by Restaurant “Berton al Lago”, also designed by Patricia Urquiola. Overlooking the water, the restaurant is divided into three areas: an area indoors with air conditioning, a veranda next to the lake and a terrace. The Executive Chef Andrea Berton has designed a menu that pays homage to the classic Lombardy and Italian dishes in a refined and relaxing ambience – with tables made in the same local stones used for the hotel’s facade embellished with a creative use seeded and travertine stone – relying on site at Chef Raffaele Lenzi, the Food & Beverage Manager Giampaolo Fabrizio and Marco Gheza as mixologist. Within less than 1 km from Il Sereno, there is Villa Pliniana, beautiful sixteenth century mansion overlooking 18 acres of lakefront for which Sereno Hotels has signed a twenty-year management agreement with the property. Completely renovated, the estate includes the main building and 3 detached villas to ensure the ease of having a private residence on the lake. The Pliniana source in the central courtyard of the villa, integrating
flows into the apartments to flow into the lake, where a private dock provides berthing for boats of the guests, who got also a heliport. The structure offers 19 luxurious bedrooms distributed in 4 apartments of the central body and in 3 independent villas – with selected furnishings and designed by Urquiola and cutting-edge technology all seamlessly integrated with the historic architecture of the place – for a total of 39 guests, while the two ballrooms accommodate up to 200 guests. For events and weddings in a larger scale, the romantic courtyards facing the lake have a solution that can accommodate up to 500 guests. The estate also has a heated indoor pool, Spa, Turkish bath, Scottish showers and sauna. Among the priceless items, the piano where in 1813 Gioacchino Rossini composed the opera Tancredi. Even today it is in the exact point of time, perfectly tuned and restored.
