The light installation Field of Light Uluru by the famous artist Bruce Munro will be visible until 2020 in the spiritual heart of Australia.
Opened on April 2016 at Ayers Rock Resort, the hotel complex located in the Uluru / Kata Tjuta National Park in the Northern Territory, this extraordinary work of art has become one of the main attractions of the destination, so much so that its “permanence” it has been extended until December 2020, the 31th. Field of Light, which in the local aboriginal language Pitjantjatjara is called Tili Wiru Tjuta Nyakutjaku, that is “looking at many beautiful lights”, is considered the greatest work
realized by Bruce Munro. The internationally renowned artist has used 50,000 thin stems crowned with radiating frosted glass spheres that extend over a surface the size of nine football pitches. This is also Munro’s first work powered entirely by solar energy. The colored spheres, connected with illuminated fiber optics, bloom as darkness falls on Uluru. Paths lead visitors towards the installation, which magically takes life under the starry sky.
To admire the installation, several options are available: Field of Light Pass, which includes transfer to / r by bus between the exhibition site and the hotel (rate from about € 25 per person); Star Pass, which in addition to transfers includes canapés and wine (from about € 55 per person); A Night at Field of Light, the most complete proposal, which also includes a dinner under the stars (about € 160 per person).
