Orecchiette à Porter, a gourmet format that exalts the traditional Apulian pasta proposed in an unprecedented catering formula, has chosen Milan for its first store.
The true flavors of Puglia have arrived in the heart of Milan, in the central and prestigious Brera district, thanks to a new “boutique fast food restaurant”, a modality declined to street food that is able, at the same time, to enhance flexibility , the quality and taste of orecchiette and other delicious traditional Apulian products. The Orecchiette à Porter project, conceived by Chef Davide De Matteis (National Restaurant of Lecce) and launched in July in the Lombard capital by 3F Retail and Molio Societas, also plans to open more than 60 stores by 2023, declining the format in 2 versions: a fast one, designed for those who love street food and fast casual food and a standard one, with the inclusion of tables and chairs inside the store. Meanwhile, in the Milanese restaurant very fresh Orecchiette arrive daily from Puglia to be declined in different variations with a wide choice of typical sauces of the Region: sauces based on fresh tomatoes, the inevitable turnip greens, chickpeas,
peas and mint, but also meat and fish. Plentiful portions, about 130 grams each, served in an elegant and practical single-portion take-away cup perfect for lunch, for a quick snack and for dinner to be consumed on a walk or even sitting outside the
room in the comfortable adjacent outdoor area. Orecchiette à Porter also offers a selection of Pucce, sandwiches stuffed with “scattirisciati” (burst) tomatoes, with aubergines or with caponata of peppers, which can also be customized with the addition of stracciatella cheese, chicken nuggets “alla cacciatora” or fried beef meatballs. For dessert the absolute protagonist is the Pasticciotto with various delicious fillings (cream, lemon, pistachio and chocolate). Therefore, authenticity and quality, but perfectly integrated with modern times: from the insertion of the automatic cash point (which limits contact, guarantees social distancing and safely streamlines customer purchasing operations), to the possibility of placing orders also from external in web ordering mode. Finally, it should be noted that Orecchiette à Porter is also active on a social level, so much so that it is a partner of the Social Food Corporation project (https://orecchiette.eu/progetto/), an initiative with a great ethical value that aims to promote socio-work integration in the Lecce area.
