Il Falconiere & Spa, 5-star hotel in Cortona, opens the new season with a nice news: the restaurant, 1 Michelin star, led by Silvia Baracchi and Richard Titi, is among the 10 new entries of Le Soste 2018.
The association born in 1982 at the behest of the great chefs of the time, led by Gualtiero Marchesi, conceived the guide Le Soste as an Italian answer to the French “Traditions et Qualité” and “Relais Gourmands. In the elegant volume of 300 pages, 94 chefs, Italian and otherwise, are presented. Only those who in their restaurants defend the role of haute cuisine, renewed and adapted to the new needs of consumers, but enhancing the products of the territory in which they are placed. Il Falconiere & Spa is the seventeenth century villa of the Baracchi family, transformed by Riccardo and Silvia into a charming residence and Wine Resort, which has been part of the Relais & Châteaux since 1997.
The Hotel, surrounded by 22 hectares of vineyards and olive groves, consists of the ancient manor house and several farmhouses that house 23 rooms and suites, plus the restaurant, two outdoor pools and a third at the Thesan Etruscan Spa. In the baroque church of San Girolamo romantic marriages are celebrated and, for business meetings, a meeting room for 40 people is available. The restaurant, led by Silvia Regi and Richard Titi, has three elegant rooms and a beautiful terrace overlooking Cortona and the hills. The extensive wine list, including the Baracchi labels, includes a national and foreign selection with more than 900 entries.
