Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th September, during the Franciacorta in Cantina Festival, 76 wineries will open their gates to all those who wish to discover the secrets of our precious Chardonnay, Pinot Nero and Pinot Bianco varieties, and taste the different Franciacorta styles while enjoying unusual activities. The festival, now in its seventh year, keeps surprising its visitors with captivating events and a wealth of initiatives in the areas of entertainment, food and wine literacy, and culture. A rendezvous for all, from wine enthusiasts, who are offered vertical and thematic tastings, to foodies, who will enjoy the tasty creations of local restauranteurs and chefs, combining tradition and innovation. Also, there will be plenty for sportspeople to do, trekking, walking or cycling across the vineyards and the hills, while families will be involved in entertaining games and picnics in

natural settings. Finally, there’s no better chance to wander amidst the many places of historical interest, e.g. castles, monasteries and museums along the Strada del Franciacorta (the Franciacorta Route), where art lovers can choose from among charming hamlets, abbeys and villas in the countryside. The wineries will obviously be the highlights. To please their increasingly demanding and curious guests, the wineries have devised the most original and imaginative events. Franciacorta wines, in their multiple styles, will be associated with fashion and apparel, ethnic, local and experimental cuisine, and even to cosmetology, with the creation of beauty treatments made from grapes. For more details on these initiatives and more, please visit www.festivalfranciacorta.it
