On Monday, July the 31 on the occasion of the Queen’s day, Lake Como lights up. The past English Queen is celebrated at Hotel Royal Victoria in Varenna
It was the year 1838, when Queen Victoria decided to stay at the Hotel Royal. After that visit, the property decided to add the name Victoria to the Hotel, a tribute still alive after more than a century of history. Royals of the world have always loved Lake Como and more spefically Varenna,the beautiful panorama has captured the attention of Queen Victoria who was dazzled by its beauty. Queen Victoria elected Royal Hotel, at that time without Victoria, the best place to spend her summer vacation. As a tradition, on July, Monday the 31, from 7pm, at Hotel Royal Victoria in Varenna is scheduled a beautiful event to celebrate and remember one of the most powerful women in history. Theme of the evening is a journey of perfumes, colours and flavours. The fittings are looking after the green designer Matteo Bernasconi and on the occasion the Rocchi Group will launch its essences, a collection of Home Perfume with natural fragrances. At the end of July, the Rocchi Family celebrates the historic stay of Queen Victoria, who 179 years ago, spent a holiday on Lake Como and chose this magnificent residence overlooking the lake. The Queen had lake view room where she was sipping the five o’clock tea and admire the colours of the lake, but also the long walks with the men of court along the footpaths that still are part of the iconic Varenna Village. These are the Queen’s habits that are still in the documents of the four-star Hotel. In addition to the fireworks and music show, chef Maurizio Lazzarin designed a very special menu, made up of tradition of the territory and all dedicated to the Queen’s preferences. The dinner will start with a salty Salmerino, to continue a fresh tagliolini with edible flowers in a lake crawfish, the dinner will carry on with a fillet of salmon with broccoli emulsion.
