Two exceptional Mediterranean chefs, Gianni Tarabini and Deni Srdoč, will be the protagonists of a “starred” twinning between Italy and Croatia on 3 February in Rijeka.

TarabiniIt will certainly be an extraordinary gastronomic experience that will be staged on February 3 at the Hilton Rijeka Costabella Beach Resort & Spa, where at the Nebo Restaurant & Lounge by Deni Srdoč the host will give hospitality to Gianni Tarabini to unite Italy and Croatia on the plate. The established and young Croatian chef, who boasts 2 Michelin stars, honed his culinary talent – inherited from his grandmother – thanks to the experience acquired in various renowned restaurants before arriving in Rijeka, where he offers a style that he embodies theTarabini traditions of his land and the Mediterranean heritage revisited in a modern key and with pleasant Italian-French influences. For his part, Gianni Tarabini is one of the cornerstones of Italian catering and will bring his energy and commitment to top quality local ingredients to the Kvarner with particular emphasis on the sustainable approach to cuisine. He has the innate ability to create exceptional dishes that represent true sustainability, both in content both in form. So much so that his commitment was rewarded not only with the Michelin Star in 2013 but also with the Michelin Green Star for sustainability in 2022.

Gastronomic partner of the event will be Campo dell’Oste, a historic company producing Carnaroli ISOS rice in Spessa, in the southern Pavia area on the left bank of the Po. Campo dell’Oste will also give its contribution to the workshop for young chefs which will take place in the Nebo kitchens on Sunday 4 February.
But three renowned wineries will also be present as partners, all from Valtellina as chef Tarabini. It will therefore be possible to taste the wines of the Aldo Rainoldi winery of Chiuro, the Riter winery of Poggiridenti and the AgriLu winery, also located in Poggiridenti.

A new chapter of the culinary sensation
After the exclusive “Sapori Italiani” evening in the Doubletree by Hilton OXBO bar and restaurant in Zagreb, where chef Enrico Derflinger prepared a series of exceptional dishes in synergy with local colleague Marinko Topalović and his team – that evening the Zagreb culinary scene took truly breathed cosmopolitan air – Irena Vergani’s ILV Factory opens a new chapter in its path of promoting excellence. In fact, Irena’s dream factory is in contact with the most important Italian culinary associations, including Euro-Toques International, the only European association of gastronomic experts recognized by the European Union. Euro-Toques International currently has more than 2500 members, and around a hundred of them have the highest culinary recognition, the 3 Michelin Stars.
